An Open Letter to Hackers

Just follow me on this.  Even you conservative folks want to know what the report says, yeah?  I mean, if the report suggests that Trump is in the clear, or at the very least, suggests that he didn’t do any prosecutable offense, you’d want that clearly on the record, right?  Trump and his camp are suggesting that Mueller has completely vindicated him, so if that’s the case, let’s see his vindication!  Let’s see it loud and proud!  Because why would ANYONE HAVE ANY REASON TO HIDE THEIR INNOCENCE?!  Make no mistake, I am in no way SOLICITING HACKERS TO ILLEGALLY OBTAIN THE MUELLER REPORT.  Obviously that would be illegal, and I wouldn’t want anyone to get themselves into trouble (I mean, if you’re good enough to obtain the report, you’d probably be good enough to cover your tracks).  I mean, even the politicians are publicly saying that transparency here would be preferable, even though Mitch McConnell, who himself called for a full release of the report, blocked a bill that passed the House that would call for just that.

Drawing Conclusions

So, Mueller’s investigation has finally concluded, and it felt like it happened with less of a bang and more of a whimper.  Not because of his conclusions, but because we don’t know what they are or if we’ll ever really see them.  Because that was always going to be the thing.  Everyone was all super curious about how this was going to shake out, and not enough people were thinking about whether or not anyone would actually KNOW how it shook out when it happened.  The AG and ardent Trump defender is keeping everything pretty close to the chest, and now Congress is going to probably head out on a fishing expedition to find out what is actually inside the damn report.  Did Trump obstruct Justice? Did Mueller come to that conclusion?  Will we ever have a clear idea of what Mueller actually turned up?  I dunno.  Life is just anticlimactic sometimes.

Devin Nunes, Republican Senator from California and all around lunatic blowhard has decided to sue Twitter and certain Twitter users because he thinks people are just too mean to him.  I mean, sure, it’s not problem for him to spearhead harassment campaigns to obstruct investigations and keep people from looking too hard at his fellow politicians, but as soon as someone who self identifies as Devin Nunes’s Cow starts pointing out his verbal garbage, that’s just a step too far!  The whole thing feels like a sham, and frankly, I think it’s all going to blow back in his face, but the man’s lack of grasp on hypocrisy is frankly alarming.  But given the administration he’s serving, I guess it’s not all that surprising.
