I keep expecting to at some point stop being surprised by the stupid, obviously fake crazy lies that Donald Trump tells. I also keep hoping that at some point, his supporters will hear this insanity and realize he’s braindamaged. Then he says like “windmills cause cancer” and his base just jumps on board and I lose a little bit of hope for humanity. I mean, he seriously suggested that the sounds of windmill cause cancer. Can we just let that digest for a moment? No study or evidence of any kind to back it up. Just a fun generic “they say” to preface it. I mean, who is “they”?! I don’t know what else to say.
Redefining the Real

I feel like it used to be that a Presidential interview would be kind of boring. I certainly never really felt the need to pour through Obama’s interviews when he was in office. He tended to be consistent in his thinking. Bush was mostly the same. I never expected an interview with him to reveal any major bombshells. But with Donald Trump, we’re now in the era where an interview with the President is going to be full of bizarre off the cuff remarks, backtracks, wild claims, blatant fabrications, and crazy amounts of mud slinging. We’ve all seen Trump say a lot of crazy things. We’ve all read his remarks, but one of the most puzzling for me to read was in his recent Wall Street Journal interview. In it, Trump says, without any specific context, that he hasn’t implemented any tariffs. Like…ANY tariffs… His actual words are “Where do we have tariffs? We don’t have tariffs anywhere.” He then went on to say “We don’t even have tariffs. I’m using tariffs to negotiate.” So we don’t have them…but we’re using them to negotiate? And by the way, we do have Tariffs. We have them on all imported aluminum, steel, solar panels, washing machines, and almost half a trillion dollars of imports from China. I mean, is he going senile? Is he lying? Because he’s talked about how great tariffs are like a thousand times! Is this just gaslighting? What is going on?
Looking the Other Way

Jamal Khashoggi, for those who aren’t familiar, was a Saudi Arabian journalist who was living in the US in self imposed exile. He was concerned about his safety and welfare in relation to his critical articles of the Saudi Royal Family, especially the prince, Mohammed bin Salman, aka MBS. On October 2, Khashoggi entered a Saudi consulate in Turkey and never walked out. The prevailing theory, is that he was murdered and dismembered at the behest of MBS. The Turkish government claims to have audio recordings of the event, and by all accounts, the allegations are credible. Not surprising to anyone was how quickly Donald Trump was to defend the Saudi Royal Family. It’s widely known that he admires them, their wealth, and their political foothold over Saudi Arabia. So when he was quick to take MBS at his word that he had nothing to do with the murder, no one batted an eye. But the problem is that when the President of the United States doesn’t take a firm action to this kind of grievous conduct, especially to a foreign pundit maintaining residence in our country, seeking safety in our borders, it sends a pretty loud message that the US doesn’t take care of it’s people when they step foot outside our borders. I mean what would it take for Trump to condemn the Saudi Royal Family? I think that’s the question we’re all sitting on at this point.
Unsubstantiated

Donald Trump seems very concerned about a spy that was in his campaign. He is spending a great deal of time ranting and raving about it, and trying to push for an investigation into the claim. But the problem is that so far, he’s unable to produce any evidence of the claim. Sure we know that the FBI may have asked an informant to question some people in the campaign regarding the Russia matters, but if that’s what he means by a spy, then anyone who ever asked someone to ask another person a question is also a spy. It’s apples and oranges. I mean, I would perhaps give the benefit of the doubt that maybe there is more to this than meets the eye, if during the secretive meeting regarding this that several congressional leaders attended, one of them came out and said they thought the President was on to something, but even the people who are supposed to be on Trump’s side seem to think Trump is off his rocker on this. Either he’s crazy, or he’s trying to further divide people by creating a fake conspiracy, but who would do that, right?
