Good Advice

I have to say, I was already basically done with today’s strip when news came down that Scott Pruitt resigned. Which actually goes to re-enforce the point of Today’s idea.
I sometimes worry about the rampant speculation about Donald Trump’s machinations. I dunno. Maybe I’m being paranoid, but often times, I just feel like pundits give him too much credit in his plans. Like, CNN will suggest some cunning plan to exploit a loophole, and my first thought its, “I don’t think he would come up with that on his own…” Usually, it’s something so underhanded that I don’t think his aides would even suggest it to him, because they have become somewhat famous for trying to reign in his more ethically dubious behavior. For instance, Several news outlets had suggested that should AG Sessions be ousted or should he resign, Trump could have replaced him with Scott “I don’t Give a Crap” Pruitt, EPA administrator and chief scandal maker, for up to 210 days so as to subvert the Senate Confirmation process, giving Pruitt and Trump plenty of time to kill the Russia Investigation. THAT could have been solid plan for something wholly unethical…and I have trouble believing Trump could arrive at that conclusion without help.
But with Pruitt’s exit, clearly that now won’t happen. And it makes me think it was a plan that Trump and co. simply didn’t come up with in time to turn around Pruitt’s resignation.
