I think most of us have come to expect a certain amount of mudslinging come election season.  It’s just kind of that unsavory thing we all get annoyed at.  But this time around, the level of it is pretty unprecedented.  Whether it’s the particular candidates, the level at which social media has been factored into modern campaigning, or both, it’s become heard to focus on single issues when all you hear is playground name calling.
